To All Visitors:
The High School Student Council carries many responsibilities in the school community. As representatives and leaders of the high school, our job is to encourage school spirit. We work hard every year to ensure a fun school year filled with fun activities that promote school spirit. Students who are a part of the student council do not only learn how to be confident leaders, but also how to cooperate with others to make the year a successful one. You can see us in action throughout the year in numerous events such as the Snowball and Prom. The HSSC is off to a great start and we look forward to a fantastic year!

“Although Habitat is hard work and physically demanding I like volunteering because afterwards I feel happy that I helped build a house for someone who is not as fortunate as us”.
-Kate Sung-
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable housing to the homelessness and works in partnership with individuals, churches and various civic organizations. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and renovates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner (partner) families. Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit, financed with affordable, no-interest loans.
For the past ten years SIS has partnered with Habitat for Humanity Korea as volunteers and financial donors. To start the 2007-2008 school year, SIS has sent student and teacher volunteers to Jinju and Yangjoo building sites.
As the Habitat season closes for winter, SIS is setting up volunteer dates for early Spring, when the building season restarts.
Through their participation as volunteers with Habitat, SIS students feel they are able to help those less fortunate in some small way – they see this experience as a means of giving something back to the community/country in which they live

In 1921 the National Association of Secondary School Principals in the United States founded the National Honor Society. It was their hope to create an organization that would recognize and encourage academic achievement amongst students and promote the development of other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. These ideals of scholarship, character, service and leadership remain as relevant today as they did when the society first began.
SIS seniors and juniors that are selected to join the NHS recognize not only the honor that goes with this membership, but also the responsibility that goes with this honor. During their final years of studying at SIS, NHS members have the responsibility of setting an example and maintaining a standard of excellence in leadership, service, scholarship and character.
This year NHS has hit the ground running! They have established Spirit Days for our Sports Teams and are running campaigns to boost student confidence and sense of self. A canned food drive has also been developed to raise awareness and goods for a local food bank. Currently the NHS is in the midst of the Annual Christmas Gift Drive for an orphanage in Seoul. This Gift Drive has been running for the past 5 years and is one of the highlights for NHS students in organizing a special event for the local community| NHS Members Faculty Advisor - Mercy Jesudass |

The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) was established in 1978 in the United States by the National Art Education Association for high school students grades 10-12, for the purpose of inspiring and recognizing those students who have shown an outstanding ability in art. Its purpose is to assist student members to attain their highest potential in all forms of art, and to raise awareness of art education throughout the school community.
In the past, the NAHS at Seoul International School has been involved in certain activities such as producing props for the school drama productions, mural painting projects in the school community and as well as the annual event of creating greeting cards. Recently, the NAHS has been extending its participation into more school events and as well as into the community.
