Boosters

The purpose of SIS is to provide a program to meet the intellectual, cultural, moral, physical, and emotional needs of its students. We seek to offer a broad set of challenging educational experiences, both curricular and co-curricular, in a safe, supportive environment. Critically, students at SIS have limited out-of-school opportunities. Therefore, the importance of the Saturday Booster Club cannot be overstated.

The booster program is offered to all elementary school students and operates on Saturday mornings with three separate seasons. The fall season is from September to November with the focus sport being soccer. Winter season focuses on swimming and runs from December to February. Basketball and T-ball are the sports set out for spring season, which lasts from March to May.

SIS faculty members participate as booster coaches for each group of students with sessions focusing on student skill and game sense development while participating in an inclusive, fun environment.

Grade 4-5 Basketball Tournament

Each year 4 teams of 10 are selected to compete in the Seoul Elementary Basketball tournament. Schools from all over Korea come to compete at this huge event. 16 teams battle it out in round robin matches before entering a knockout tournament.

Field Day

This is a huge event where the whole school comes out for some fun in the sun!!! Each year students compete in 10 fun sporting activities. Grades K-2 compete in their games in the morning and Grades 3-5 compete in the afternoon. Teams compete for trophies and many great prizes. The day is well supported by sponsors e.g. Kelloggs. Parents turn out in their hundreds to see some amusing games like the traditional egg and spoon race, sack race, three legged race, cross country race, baton relay race, soccer dribble and shoot, basketball shoot, and water carry.
